What is Humanistic Counselling?

Humanistic Counselling integrates 3 different modalities of Person-Centred, Existential and Gestalt, find out more about Humanistic Modalities,

As a Humanistic Counsellor, my main belief is that we are all unique individuals, and life's difficult challenges impact us all in different ways. No one person is the same, and no one challenge or struggle is the same.

In recognising your own uniqueness,  I can help you to explore ways to manage these challenges and struggles, so to meet your individual needs, which can then help you to find ways to cope better, and lead toward you taking more control of your life.

I offer Online, Telephone and Face to Face sessions, to ensure flexibility, which allows you to choose the method that best suits your needs and comfort level.

If you're unsure Counselling is for you, I offer a choice of either a free 30 minute telephone or online consultation, where this can be explored.

A bit about Counselling.

There are various reasons why you might come to me for counselling. It could be that you are experiencing difficulties in your personal relationships, confused, struggling with anxiety or depression, uncertain of your identity, questioning your self-worth, lonely, or facing a major life transition, a significant turning point or milestone that you are struggling to deal with.

These struggles can be very challenging, sometimes confusing, at times isolating, even difficult to navigate and often having an emotional toll on you. Within Counselling,  I offer you a caring and compassionate place where you are no longer alone with these difficulties. I will walk alongside you and we will face these unique struggles, challenges or confusion together.  A safe, accepting, and non-judgmental space, where you can freely express your individual thoughts and emotions.

Together, I can help you explore what you're feeling, why you're feeling that way and help you toward discovering ways to help you cope.  In helping you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, you can then find and develop your own effective coping strategies.

As a Humanistic Counsellor, I am dedicated to your well-being and counselling is a place where I work collaboratively with you to create an environment that supports you in exploring your unique needs and goals. Together, we can work towards  overcoming obstacles and help to empower you to live a life that aligns with your true potential.

A bit about my experience and what I can help you with.

As well as my private practice, I  have also, for some years, supported a local shelter. The YMCA, where I provided counselling & psychotherapy services to Adults experiencing homelessness,  including many different challenging circumstances and struggles that brought them here.

I additionally provide counselling and psychotherapy services for R.A.S.A.S.C. (Guildford's Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre), supporting individuals with a range of personal struggles and challenges.

Supporting other charities not only helps the individuals I support, but also helps to promote a sense of unity and collaboration within the counselling community. By sharing our expertise and resources,  we can learn from one another and collectively work towards our common goal of improving the well-being of individuals and society as a whole. I believe together, we can create a stronger and more compassionate society.

Below is a list of some of the issues I can support you with, however, this list is not extensive.  It really is up to you. You can bring whatever it is you wish to work on for your own individual and unique goals of healing and growth.  Nothing is too big or too small, This is your space for you to explore your needs.
